Tall Stature Grasses for Winter Grazing and Spring Calving

Summary

Standing cured grasses of a tall stature type can project through the snow cover, providing late-season cattle grazing with a minimum of supplemental water. Areas not well suited for intensive forage production can be converted to cafeterias of these tall grasses. This project will test the above theory by developing these cafeterias to see if they will perform under practical situations.
