Developing adaptable native shrubs for the green industry

Summary

(This new project launched in the fall of 2013, and this abbreviated year-end report covers late October, November, and December only.)

Twelve growers and four outreach professionals met in person on October 24, 2013 as part of the orientation workshop. A presentation on ten tough, adaptable native shrubs as alternatives to invasives was provided. A fact sheet (see below) on these shrubs was distributed to attendees. Growers and the P.I discussed native species for future plant transfer and on-nursery testing.
