Proposal abstract:

The Model state Program Assistant will assist state leaders to conduct the Model State program. The assistant will handle the day to day projects related to the Model state program. This includes managing funds and budgets as well as interacting and engaging with community members and organizations and informing community members about the work being done by SARE. This individual also assists in writing the Annual report.

Project objectives from proposal:

Similar to the 2024-2025 objectives we will continue to foster the partnership between Florida A&M University, and the University of Florida and the extension programs at both institutions. We will collaborate on projects and outreach events.

Focus outreach and educational activities on farms and communities with limited resources as well as minority and women farmers in an effort to address the needs of these demographics and increase the viability of the communities that they live in and serve.

Work with extension agents in these communities to develop and provide workshops to address issues both agricultural and social faced by the communities.

Continue to work with organizations active in the food system such as those in post-production and post-farm gate elements of the food system in Florida communities.
