    Proposal abstract:

Michigan Envirothon (ME) is an environmental education program for high school students housed with the Michigan Association of Conservation Districts and guided by ME Board Members. ME is presented in a team based competition format and provides environmental education and stewardship of our natural resources. ME teams increase their knowledge about environmental issues as they work throughout the year to study these eight natural resource topics: Agriculture, Aquatic Ecology, Energy, Forestry, Soils/Geology, Wildlife and a current Environmental Issue that changes each year. While we have 8 topics, they are all intertwined in a healthy environment and we teach and test on each topic in the context of the whole environment with a stress on sustainability for all areas.
