Proposal abstract:

Youth will come to the farm for field trips or weekly hands -on studies to learn climate smart composting & soil systems.  We will look at 4 different forms of composting as well as biochar & heating a high tunnel using compost.  First is a 5-bin composting system where you use green material and brown, layer it in and bring it up to temp.  Second is JohnsonSue system done with leaves.  The 3rd, Mushroom composting and how mycelium works.  4th system is worm farming and how the casting are used, how the produce is broken down by the worms.
