    Proposal abstract:

The purpose of this project is to develop a Langshan Breeding Program and Youth Involvement Program to encourage the 4-H in Kendall County, Illinois to raise heritage breeds of poultry using sustainable methods. Many students want to show poultry, but do not know where they can purchase purebred stock. By encouraging the breeding and showing of Langshans, I will help prevent this threatened breed from going extinct.
