Proposal summary:
A two-year field evaluation of alternative legume cover crops for adoptability in a no-till wheat-corn crop sequence. Evaluation criteria include biomass and nitrogen yield, physical characteristics of biomass and soil at planting, attractiveness to insect pests and suitability for mechanical harvest as forage.
