Description:
This presentation evaluates the ergonomic performance of commonly used scoop shovels and pitchforks among women farmers. The study focuses on identifying factors contributing to musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) risks, including awkward postures, repetitive motion, and task intensity (reaching, bending, and stooping). Using posture analysis and ergonomic assessment tools, the research examines how tool design affects body mechanics and physical strain. Results highlight the importance of aligning tools with female anthropometry to improve posture, reduce strain, and enhance usability. The study provides practical recommendations for redesigning agricultural hand tools to better meet the needs of women farmers.
