Description:
The project website details the project's aim to reduce the overall transportation and warehousing costs for four food hubs and several producers in the state of Iowa by improving horizontal collaboration within this Iowa Food Hub Network. The collaboration started in 2014, with four food hubs and one producer, and has since grown to a complex network as shown in the below graphic. This growing network was experiencing sub-optimal system-wide logistics issues due to the absence of adequate infrastructures, both physical and informational. The team was tasked to help the four food hub managers track inventory and fairly allocate cost between them.

The website details the inventory tracking app that was detailed during the project and how others can download and use the app in their own food hub network.
