About
Dale Leavitt received his PhD in Animal Nutrition at the University of Maine at Orono, working on synthetic diet development for American Lobsters. He went on to work at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution for 22 years advancing to a Research Associate and Extension Program Leader for Woods Hole Sea Grant and Aquaculture Extension Specialist for Cape Cod Cooperative Extension. Dr Leavitt joined the faculty in Marine Biology at Roger Williams University (Bristol, RI) and achieved the position of Professor Emeritus when he retired after 16 years in 2020. Dale is now a member of Blue Stream Shellfish LLC where he is one of three partners who are operating two shellfish farms in southeastern Massachusetts.
