About
Eve Kaplan-Walbrecht and her husband Chris founded Garden of Eve Organic Farm & Market in 2001, when they started a large garden for fun at their home in Riverhead Long Island. Invited to sell some extra produce (zucchini!) at a local farmers market they made $40 and were launched on their farming career. They now grow on 30 certified organic acres, and sell their produce at NYC farmers markets and serve more than 300 households with their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs at 13 locations in New York City and on Long Island. They host school groups, birthdays and other events on the farm, and offer U-pick strawberries, veggies and pumpkins. Eve holds a BA from Harvard in Environmental Science and a MS in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and worked in environmental education and town planning before launching the farm.
