About
I am a sixth generation farmer, born and raised in rural east-central Illinois. I’m willing to find out what impossible means. Multi-disciplinary problem solver with an adventurous spirit and Midwest farmer work ethic. Utilizing my diverse work experience, robust skill set, and collaborative approach to research as leverage for solving difficult problems with innovative + elegant solutions that transcend the boundaries of conventional wisdom. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills combine with great interpersonal and organization skills to successfully complete tasks in a team environment. I am experienced at managing small teams to successfully complete fast paced projects within time constraints.
Areas of experience:
Land Use - Finding sustainable ways to harness the power of finite resources in a way that is equitable for all living organisms.
Animal Husbandry - Providing a life that is better than never having lived at all.
Machine design - Improving efficiency, increasing productivity
Lean Manufacturing - 1% doesn’t seem like a lot but small improvements in efficiency can add up quickly/exponentially.
Sustainability is Efficiency - Let’s find ways to do more with less.
My hobbies include:
Spending as much time outside as possible with activities such as camping, hiking, swimming, mountain biking, and winter sports.
Creating sculptures from scrap and found metal.
End of life care for interesting automobiles - I like to drag home non-running or neglected cars, trucks, and motorcycles then breath new life into them through maintenance, modification, and restoration to become my daily driver.
