Project Information

Summary:

The goal of this project was to investigate innovative and creative ways of selling dairy products safely at Farmers’ Markets and open food stores and to then publish the information in a handbook.

Courtney contacted all states in the Northeast region and compiled the existing regulations for selling dairy products at Farmers’ markets and other open arenas. She also investigated current options in cooling equipment, displays and presentation ideas to develop increased interest in sales of dairy products.

Courtney consolidated all the information she collected into an easy to read concise handbook- Safe Sell Dairy: Creative ways to sell dairy products safely at farmer’s markets. The book was reviewed by people with expertise in dairy sanitation and marketing before publication. The book is available directly from Courtney.
