Sustainable Poultry, Pastures, Soils, and Vegetable Education in Minnesota

Summary

Work on the curriculum was nearing completion after four staff assumed other positions or left Extension.  Our project leader for the Pasture Curriculum assumed a new position in  September and we have struggled somewhat in completing the work for this particular curricula.  We also lost a co-lead on the Vegetable Production curriculum but the project was near completion at the end of December.  The Poultry curriculum was about complete with a major portion out for review.  The Soils & Soil Quality curriculum is completed, reviewed and ready to go.  

Objectives/Performance Targets

Loss of staff over 2013 delayed the completion of this project.  As we enter 2014 we will be completing the following tasks to complete the project:
   1.  Design evaluations for each curricula for evaluation of student knowledge gain.
   2.  Design evaluation for the instructor feedback.
   3.  Roll out curricula to MN educators with feedback on curricula.
   4.  Complete final design and layout for publication of curricula.
   5.  Send completed curricula to NC-SARE for distribution.

Accomplishments/Milestones

Completion of one full curriculum in 2013 was a milestone and set the standard for the other 3 curricula.  The preliminary design of the package was started and evaluation packages were outlined to measure learner knowledge gains and provider instructor feedback.
