    Proposal summary:

Certified organic maple products, which would exclude the use of chemical tap hole refreshers, defoamers, cleaning products, and sugarbush sprays and applications, may fetch a premium price. The farmer will establish production standards, analyze target markets, develop an organic label, and record the marketing and sales results. These will then be shared at producers’ meetings and at extension events, with an emphasis on informing small family farms in the Finger Lakes region about organic maple products opportunities.
