Parasite and Nutrient Management of Composted Manure

Summary

Using manure to fertilize pastures grazed by the animals that produced the manure, potentially increases the parasite load of those animals. Composting is recommended to reduce manure parasite populations. This project will monitor the composting process and results, providing guidelines and recommendations to produce an end product that has little or no parasite potential, with beneficial nutrients for fertilization.
