Proposal abstract:

The final outcomes of the project are extension agents gain confidence and competence in writing NIFA-aligned impact statements; clear understanding of how to collect baseline and outcome data during extension activities; development of a shared toolset: templates, checklists, and data-collection forms; improved quality and quantity of impact statements submitted for annual reporting (NIFA, Plan of Work, Annual Report of Accomplishments and NIFA Impact databases); enhanced communication of program value to stakeholders, funding agencies, and community partners. Additionally, impact Reporting Handbook provides step-by-step guidance, templates, and examples; video tutorials allow new staff to be trained without recurring; and translations ensure accessibility for local extension staff and communities. These materials strengthen long-term institutional reporting capacity.

Project objectives from proposal:

The main objectives of the project are 1) Increase extension agents' knowledge of NIFA impact statement structure, purpose, and required components. 2) Train participants on practical data-collection methods (baseline, follow-up, surveys, observation, simple indicators) aligned with NIFA reporting needs. 3) Develop extension agents' skills in translating program outputs and outcomes into concise, compelling impact statements. 4) Establish a standard reporting workflow and templates to ensure uniform and timely impact reporting across all sites.
