    Proposal summary:

Direct marketing efforts by farmers often take place at roadside stands and farmers’ markets, and the goal of this project is to expand the possible venues for farm sales, see if farmers can market more cooperatively, and offer the consumer tastings, educational materials, workshops, and cooking and gardening demonstrations. The farmer will organize events, develop questionnaires and other feedback material, and track the revenues of the participating farmers. The project will result in an analysis and how-to booklet that will be made available at conferences, farmer gatherings, and will also be posted on the Web.
